Jean Hunter (Chelmsford Group 1)

Jean is the original teacher of Dance 21 Group 1 starting over 25 years ago.
Whilst running her own established dance school in London, she moved to Chelmsford and started teaching classes there simultaneously, where the classes first started.
She is qualified in Ballet, Tap, Musical Theatre, Jazz, Freestyle, Ballroom and Latin, and has been an Examiner with the U.K.A. Dance Society.
She is passionate about working with the team members having choreographed many, many performances for London shows, TV, Theatres and local Community events.
This has enabled the students to progress massively in both ability and confidence.
Hannah Randall (Chelmsford Group 2)
Hannah started dancing at the age of 4 in Chelmsford; doing Ballet, Tap and Modern Theatre and later starting Ballroom and Latin American. Hannah was a keen performer as a student, taking part in annual dance shows, Ballroom and Latin competitions, Performing Group tours and Christmas Pantomimes with her Ice Skating club! She enjoyed assisting her Dance Teachers with the younger children’s classes for many years, and in 2009 successfully auditioned at The Dance College, Royston to study for her DDEs in Imperial Ballet, Modern and Tap and has been enjoying teaching ever since.
Hannah has a particular passion for working with and teaching life skills to people and students with additional needs, in particular those on the Autism Spectrum. She teaches dance classes specifically for youngsters with special educational needs and disabilities and provided classes for City of Chelmsford Mencap on Zoom throughout the covid 19 pandemic and later in person, which she has found hugely rewarding.
She is keen to support a number of charities and has encouraged students to take part in the Tapathon for Children In Need for several years.
Hannah also loves incorporating her experience in many dance styles to create and choreograph ‘first dances’ for Weddings and has taught at hen do parties!

Fran (Woodford Group 1&2)

Fran has been dancing since the age of 3, training in tap, ballet, street and musical theatre. Performing has always been a huge part of her life and she has been teaching dance since she was 17, turning her passion into a career.
As a dance teacher for a Dance21, Fran believes dance is a powerful way to express emotion, build confidence and create joy. There is nothing more rewarding to her than seeing dancers grow, perform, and shine both in class and at regular performances.
Outside of the studio, Fran is a keen runner and is currently training for two marathons — always embracing new challenges and ways to push herself.
Steve Turner (Chelmsford Group 1)
Steven Turner has trained in a variety of dance styles, including contemporary, street, mime and moving with props. He attended a Laban boys course, as well as attending summer schools with companies including Springs Dance Company, Movement in Worship and Chantry Dance Company. In recent years Steven has founded his own organisation, Next Step Creative, to promote collaboration between dance and other creative arts. Regularly choreographing and teaching for Dance 21 (a dance company for children and young adults with Down’s syndrome). He has performed at Project Dance Paris and travelled to Rotterdam to teach in connection with his role as ICDF Refresh Coordinator. He has performed across the UK and Europe including Switzerland, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, and France.

Katie (Chelmsford Group 2)

Katie started dancing when at school in a variety of styles having always loved dancing. She participated in performing group tours and shows across Essex.
With her passion for teaching independence and life skills to pupils with SEND, specifically those on the autism spectrum day to day. She loves seeing the enjoyment of young people sharing their own passions and enjoying performing, with an emphasis on the importance for everyone to be able to express themselves, whatever that output may be!
Chloe (Woodford Group 1&2)
Chloe has experience in commercial, street and jazz dance alongside musical theatre. She has participated in various competitions and recently won the Xcite dance competition with a platinum score.
she loves sharing her passion for dance and teaching it to others, especially with the Dance 21 group.
